Vancouver’s latest job fair is trying to link university students with one of their favourite things… beer.For the past three years, the Labatt brewery has been recruiting UBC graduates.
Up to 20 candidates from across Canada will be competing for a spot with the company’s global management trainee program.
Darren Farrell is one of the first four original recruits,
“With so many opportunities available, you know, for young people out there, it becomes more than just, you know, which company has the best compensation –the best benefits. You have to look to, you know, the other things that they offer –how much access to training that they give you, what the availability of promotions are going to be like.”
Farrell –who has a mechanical engineering degree– is now the company’s territory sales manager for the Fraser valley.
Better hurry though, the job fair at ubc starts TONIGHT at 7pm.
