A new set of awards in Sydney Austrailia’s SMH Good Food Guide aims to increase chefs’ awareness of beer as a potential food partner. Both the Pony restaurant and the Rose of Australia hotel in Sydney have received awards this week for their beer-friendly menus.

Flavour, innovation and passion were the determining criteria, the chairman of the judging panel, Matthew Kemp, said. Kemp is the owner/chef of Restaurant Balzac.
