The Great American Beer Festival (October 11-13th in Denver, Colorado) has been named one of the top 1,000 places to see before you die! Now in its 26th yar, the GABF began with the festival’s founder and Brewers Association‘s president, Charlie Papazian in 1982. There were only 20 brewers at the first festival and a little over 1,000 people. This year the attendance is expected to exceed 41,000 and there will be 1,789 beers on tap from 402 breweries.

The festival– widely considered one of the world most prestigious beer competitions–will feature more than 100 professional beer judges from around the world evaluating more than 2,671 beers entered by 446 U.S. breweries this October. Winning beers will be awarded gold, silver and bronze medals in 69 beer-style categories at the awards ceremony on October 13.
